On July 16, the "BYD ZHENGZHOU", a 7,000-ceu (car equivalent unit) dual-fuel Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Co.

On July 16, the "BYD ZHENGZHOU", a 7,000-ceu (car equivalent unit) dual-fuel Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) built by Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. for BYD (Hong Kong) Limited and inspected by China Classification Society (CCS), was officially named and delivered. Zhou Liwei, Deputy General Manager of CCS Guangzhou Branch, attended the naming and delivery ceremony at the invitation.


 

"BYD Zhengzhou", with a total length of 199.9 meters, adopts a dual-fuel propulsion system and is equipped with a permanent magnet shaft generator. It meets the additional requirements of CCS "G-EP (NEC2, GPR)" environmental protection and "AFD Ready 2" ammonia fuel preset, making it a green, intelligent, environmentally friendly and efficient ultra-large car carrier.

During the ship's construction, Guangzhou Branch placed high priority on project advancement, conducting multiple visits to BYD headquarters for thorough discussions on construction and inspection matters. The Nansha Survey Station's on-site team strictly adhered to inspection standards while fully coordinating with the shipyard's production schedule. Addressing new technologies and processes applied in this vessel type, they actively collaborated with the shipowner, shipyard, and equipment suppliers to optimize inspection procedures, accelerating the series' delivery timeline. With professional expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering dedication, the team maintained rigorous safety and quality control during holidays while steadfastly working on-site.
