Recently, CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute organized a risk assessment meeting for the 488 TEU LNG fuelled ship of PT TEMAS Tbk of Indonesia.

Recently, CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute organized a risk assessment meeting for the 488 TEU LNG fuelled ship of PT TEMAS Tbk of Indonesia. More than 20 experts and representatives from Nantong Offshore Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd. (NODRI), Nantong ClMC Energy Equipment Co., Ltd., Chengdu Smart Action Technology Co., Ltd., CCS Jiangsu Branch, CCS Chongqing Branch, etc. attended the meeting.  

 


 

Prior to the meeting, the risk assessment team had multiple communications and exchanges with the shipowner regarding the purposes, objects, boundary conditions, etc. of this risk assessment for the  ship design, carried out analysis and assessment on potential risks such as LNG leakage, fire, fuel tank over pressure, etc., and developed the initial draft of the risk assessment report.

At the meeting, the experts conducted risk analysis and assessment of LNG storage, supply and power system based on the ship design, fully studied the mutual influence between the LNG power system and the arrangement of cargo containers, made risk control recommendations for the connection of portable tank containers, leakage low-temperature protection, fuel supply redundancy, LNG tank changeover, no-load areas for dangerous cargo containers and refrigerated containers and other key points, and optimized the ship design, which provides a strong technical support for the ship safety. 

In recent years, CCS has made unremitting efforts to provide excellent overseas technical services. Looking towards the future, CCS will actively promote the application of new energy technologies in shipping to facilitate the green and low-carbon transformation and the development of the industry.
