Recently, in order to promote the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between China Classification Society (CCS) and Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute has singed a joint research collaboration agreement with Martitime Energy and Sustainable Development (MESD) Center of Excellence of Nanyang Technological University, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of marine green methanol fuel supply chain.

Recently, in order to promote the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between China Classification Society (CCS) and Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute has singed a joint research collaboration agreement with Martitime Energy and Sustainable Development (MESD) Center of Excellence of Nanyang Technological University, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of marine green methanol fuel supply chain. 

In recent years, the domestic and foreign port groups have actively promoted the green and low-carbon transformation and development of the shipping industry. In December 2023, Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission and MPA signed a MOU to promote the establishment of the Singapore – Tianjin Green and Digital Shipping Corridor.


Joint Research Project Kickoff Meeting

This time, CCS Wuhan Rules & Research Institute and MESD have collaborated to leverage their respective strengths to carry out joint research in the fields of marine alternative fuel industry chain and new energy application technology. They will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with companies in the upstream and downstream industry chain of green methanol, providing important technical support for the transformation and industrial upgrading of green energy in shipping. 

 

The MESD was launched in October 2017. MESD has the mission to deepen Singapore’s maritime R&D capability and position as a global maritime knowledge and innovation hub to support Singapore’s maritime strategic. With the focus on green port and shipping, MESD works closely with key stakeholders within the maritime cluster to develop innovative and sustainable solutions.
