China Classification Society (CCS) Attended the Malaysia Maritime Week 2023

The Malaysia Maritime Week 2023, organized by the Malaysia Shipowners’ Association (MASA), was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur from June 20 to June 22. 

The Malaysia Maritime Week 2023, organized by the Malaysia Shipowners’ Association (MASA), was successfully held in Kuala Lumpur from June 20 to June 22. The exhibition has attracted shipowners, shipyards, equipment suppliers, service providers, maritime colleges, and shipping industry associations from China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. Kuala Lumpur Office of CCS Singapore Branch attended the exhibition on behalf of CCS.

 

 

 

On the first day, Datuk Hasbi, deputy minister of the Ministry of Transport, Malaysia, and Captain Halim, president of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), visited the CCS stand. Captain Samad, deputy minister of MMEA, had a cordial and friendly talk with Li Pan, manager of Kuala Lumpur Office at the CCS stand. Mr. Samad make detailed inquiries about the business development of Kuala Lumpur Office in Malaysia and the size of CCS fleet. The two parties discussed the Port State Control (PSC), ship audit and the first annual Document of Compliance (DOC) audit of local companies between MMEA and CCS. Mr. Samad hoped that CCS can further leverage its technological advantages in the industry and contribute to shipping safety of Malaysia.

 

 

 

Mr. Kitack Lim, secretary-general of IMO, Mr. Safwan, secretary-general of MASA, and Mr. Hanafi, president of PETRONAS LNG, also attended this exhibition and exchanged views at the CCS stand.

 

At this exhibition, CCS has publicized and introduced the important research areas including green ships, intelligent ships, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered/bunkering vessels to the industry participants.

 

 

 

The CCS stand has attracted numerous domestic and foreign shipowners and industry participants to visit and learn about the latest technological trends and service products of CCS. CCS exhibitors made interactive exchanges with shipping industry participants, maritime department leaders, scientific research institutions, etc. in an actively and enthusiastic manner, answered customers’ inquiries, and discussed future development trends and cooperation space.
