China Classification Society (CCS) Completed the First Works Approval for MARK III Special Stainless Steel Plates

On February 28, China Classification Society (CCS) issued the Works Approval certificate for MARK III special stainless steel plates (hereinafter referred to as “MARK III steel plate”) developed and produced by Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd.

On February 28, China Classification Society (CCS) issued the Works Approval certificate for MARK III special stainless steel plates (hereinafter referred to as “MARK III steel plate”) developed and produced by Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “TISCO”). This is the first MARK III steel plate Works Approval certificate issued by CCS, and TISCO has also become the first enterprise with MARK III steel plate production capacity and qualification in China.

 


 

MARK III steel plates are manufactured by a special cold rolling process of austenitic stainless steel. It is very difficult to manufacture since there are strict requirements for dimensional accuracy and surface “zero defect” and other indicators.

 

CCS has cooperated with TISCO and other units, participated in all aspects of the trial production ,inspection and test of MARK III steel plates, helped to solve technical problems encountered in the approval process, and provided professional and high-quality services for approval. The approval of TISCO’s MARK III steel plates further helps to improve the capability of Chinese shipyards to build membrane LNG Carriers.
