Main contents of the Amendments:

PART TWO  HULL

For public affair ships etc. that are not high-speed and whose main hull is made of aluminum alloy, reference is made to CCS Guidelines for Structure of Non-High-Speed All-Aluminum Alloy Sea-Going Ships; Clarifying requirements for the minimum thickness of members for ships of less than 65 m in length and engaged in restricted service; Adding technical requirement reference of external glass balustrades applicable to all ship types; Clarifying definition of calculation area of rudder horns; Adding requirements for chain cable fasteners in accordance with IACS Rec.10; Clarifying that the transverse strength of the hull is to be checked for ferries carrying vehicles; Deleting average stress value of fine meshes in direct strength calculation of twin-hull craft.

 

PART THREE  MACHINERY INSTALLATIONS

Adding reference of Guidelines for Ships Using Liquefied Petroleum Gas Fuel; Applicable portable equipment may be accepted as means in the thermal oil system expansion tank for detection of flammable cargo vapors; Alarm is also to be provided for single circuit thermal oil system; Adding requirements in case the control device of the clutch loses power.

 

PART FOUR  ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS

Revising application, definition and relevant requirements of UPS in accordance with IACS URE21 Rev.2; Updating Table 2.18.5.1 Characteristics of Electrical Equipment for Use in Hazardous Areas in accordance with IMSBC as amended by MSC539(107).
