On September 23, 2022, the 37th Anniversary Gala Dinner of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) was held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore, attended by 2300 guests from different fields of the shipping industry from around the world.

Under the joint initiative of China Classification Society (CCS) and SDTR Marine, SSA held a "Carbon Neutral" annual Gala Dinner. CCS collected, analyzed and calculated the carbon emission data of the event in detail, such as transportation, participants, food and electricity consumption. SDTR Marine purchased carbon credits based on CCS's carbon emission calculations to offset the carbon emissions generated by the event.

Mr. S. Iswaran, Minister of Transport of Singapore, attended the event as the guest of honor and delivered a speech, in which he spoke highly of the "Carbon Neutral" event and called on the shipping industry to join hands and contribute to the global carbon reduction.

At present, the green and low-carbon transformation of the shipping industry has entered the fast lane. CCS is willing to join hands with the industry to meet the challenges, continue to practice the concept of green and low-carbon, and actively exploit its own technological advantages to help the sustainable development of the shipping industry.
