1. 5G+ real-time
remote survey of ships
With new technologies
and equipment such as 5G/4G/VSAT, AD hoc networking, smart phones, AR glasses
and UAV, CCS has carried out research on key remote ship survey technologies for annual survey. In light of ships’ complex environment,
a series of solutions including "5G + ad-hoc networking"
communication in the enclosed space of ships, remote survey data collection supported
by "AR glasses/smartphone/ UAV and ship-shore coordination based scenario
remote survey platform have been proposed. Breakthroughs have been made in key technologies featuring “scenario-based survey", including "network communication, collection
terminal, collaborative interaction platform and ship-shore synergy". Via the establishment of “one cloud two sides”, CCS has achieved ship-to-shore
remote survey coordination and has seen good application.
CCS has carried out remote
survey to ships engaged in international navigation, ocean-going fishing
vessels and in-land waterway ships, promoted related technical solutions
and experiences to the competent authority, local ship survey bodies, shipping
companies, shipyards, financial institutions, in order to provide best
practices to realize efficient remote inspection/survey.

"5G/4G/VSAT+ AD hoc
networking" communication in the enclosed space of ships
To address such conditions
as large numbers of cabins, complex structure, confined space, metal
interference, and insufficient time for networking, the portable MESH relay
devices are used for multi-points networking and rapid connection to 5G/4G/VSAT
network and audio and video collection equipment. Network environment of high
bandwidth, high disturbance resistance and stable transmission guarantees network
communication which is critical for real-time remote ship survey. Remote ship survey is particularly suitable to confined space such as engine room and tanks where there is no signal coverage.

"AR
glasses/smart phone/UAV" supported remote survey data collection
AR glasses or smart phone + cloud platform + noise-diminishing headset are
used to collect HD audio and video of remote ships to ensure the stability of images captured and the quality of communication during the process of
real-time survey.
Due to its high-altitude accessibility and flexible mobility, UAV is used to reach structures that are difficult to approach to collect ultra-high-definition pictures which will then be transmitted through 5G+UAV in real time to the remote survey center for surveyors to get a full knowledge of the hull structure condition.
