China Classification Society (CCS) Singapore Branch issued the first CII Classification Statement for Vessel “SDTR DORA” of SDTR Marine Pte. Ltd On September 3. CCS Singapore Branch calculated the vessel’s annual service carbon intensity indicator (CII) and rated it as Class A according to the standards and calculation guidelines that were issued in Resolution MEPC 76 and based on the data about the shipping fuel consumption of SDTR DORA in 2020. This was the first CII Classification Statement issued by CCS after the issuance of Resolution MEPC 76.

The 76th session of IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 76) reviewed and adopted the amendment of Supplementary Provision VI in MARPOL and mandatorily required the carbon intensity reduction of the vessels in service, which would further drive the shipping industry’s green and low-carbon development. CCS is ready to cooperate with the industry community to provide technical support and guarantee for impelling carbon emission reduction for the shipping industry and the R&D of new technology.
