Fuzhou Branch of China Classification Society (CCS) issued a classification certificate with the additional notations of "Epidemic Prevention and Control 2" (EPC 2) and “Telemedicine Assistant System” (TAS) to the cruise ship GU LANG YU of Astro Ocean International Cruise Co., Ltd. on July 1. This is the first time that CCS has granted the additional notations of "Epidemic Prevention and Control" to a cruise ship, indicating that the epidemic prevention and control management system, the sanitary guarantee conditions and the capabilities to cope with an epidemic of this ship meet the relevant requirements of the additional notations EPC2 and TAS in the Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control of Ships published by CCS.
In order to assist the ship meet the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, the CCS Shanghai Rules & Research Institute and the Fuzhou Branch jointly conducted the epidemic prevention safety assessment for the ship GU LANG YU, worked out a plan for onboard epidemic prevention and control, implemented the requirements of the Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control of Ships, and finally issued the classification certificate with additional notation of "Epidemic Prevention and Control".
Implementing the epidemic prevention and control assessment and survey & certification work for cruise ships is another important measure for Fuzhou Branch to carry out the practical activities of "Deliver Services to the People", and effectively protects the personal health and safety on board and the voyage safety. Fuzhou Branch will continuously improve customer satisfaction and contribute to establishing a high-quality survey business and building an international first-class CCS.
