CCS Inked A Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Shanghai Jiaotong University

On August 14, China Classification Society (CCS) and Shanghai Jiaotong University signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement in Beijing, aiming to strength comprehensive mutual cooperation in talent training and exchange, scientific research and development (R&D), etc.

 Based on the understanding of the country¡¯s economic development needs and the consensus of development trend of domestic and overseas shipbuilding and offshore engineering industries, both sides agree to leverage the unique advantages within their respective areas and strengthen multi-level cooperation, especially in the fields of new technical standards for shipping and shipbuilding. Thereby it could promote Shanghai Jiaotong University to achieve the goal of building a ¡°comprehensive, research-oriented, international¡± world-class university and support the growth of CCS as the classification society of our country in the fields of classification and statutory services for shipbuilding and offshore engineering, equipment and engineering supervision, and industrial product certification. Accordingly, the cooperation will contribute to enhancing China¡¯s technical standards and R&D level for ships and offshore engineering.

 Mr. Mo Jianhui, CCS Vice president and Mr. Chen Gang, Vice-president of Shanghai Jiaotong University, respectively on behalf of CCS and Shanghai Jiaotong University, singed the strategic agreement. Mr. Zhu Kai, Vice president & Chief Engineer and Mr. Li Siqiang, Head of Human Resources Dept., on behalf of CCS, respectively signed the Joint Declaration, the agreement on building the collaborative innovation center on ¡°high-tech ship and deep-sea structure¡±, the agreement on building the ¡°engineering practice & education center¡± and the agreement on establishing CCS scholarship in the university.

 Mr. Sun Licheng, CCS Chairman & President, Mr. Pei Wanfa, CCS Party Secretary & Vice President, Mr. Ma Dexiu, Party Secretary of Shanghai Jiaotong University and the representatives of both sides attended the signing ceremony. The strategic partnership with Shanghai Jiaotong University was an important part of CCS¡¯ full cooperation with domestic maritime institutions.
