On the evening of June 11, Mr. Xu Zuyuan, China¡¯s Vice Minister of Transport met with the delegation headed by Mr. Richard Sadler, CEO of Lloyd¡¯s Register (LR) at CCS Mansion.
Mr. Xu welcomed Mr. Sadler to revisit China. He said that the past year witnessed more frequent exchanges in various sectors between China and the UK, as well as substantial progress in bilateral cooperation between CCS and LR. In face of the current global economic difficulties, no enterprise could manage alone or stand aloof, so enhanced cooperation is required to deal with the current hardships in the maritime sector. Mr. Sadler agreed with Mr. Xu¡¯s views, saying that CCS and LR have been developing a much closer partnership, as demonstrated by the rapid business growth of the joint venture CCS LR Technical Services Limited, especially the remarkable achievements in the rail transportation sector.
Mr. Xu and Mr. Sadler also exchanged their views on cooperation in the shipbuilding, shipping and aeronautical fields, where CCS and LR should work together to boost a more comprehensive and in-depth cooperation. They both expressed confidence in the cooperation prospect.
Mr. Yang Zan, Deputy Director-General of Department of International Cooperation of Ministry of Transport (MOT), Mr. Wang Shuiping, Deputy Director-General of Department of Road Transport of MOT, CCS President Mr. Sun Licheng and Vice Presidents Mr. Pei Wanfa and Mr. Mo Jianhui also attended the meeting.
