Theme Activity of the 6th World Accreditation Day Held in CCS Headquarters

June 9th 2013 is the 6th World Accreditation Day. The theme activity on it jointly hosted by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ministry of Commerce (MOC) and China Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA) was held in CCS Headquarters. Mr. Zhi Shuping, Minister of AQSIQ attended the activity and announced the launch of the action themed "Certification and Accreditation: Facilitating Trade and Benefiting People". Mr. Gao Hongfeng, Vice Minister of MOT, Mr. Sun Dawei, Vice Minister of AQSIQ and Director of CNCA, Mr. Wang Fengqing, Director of China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), Mr. Nan Cunhui, member of Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and the representatives of MOC and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) delivered speeches respectively. 

The theme of this year¡¯s World Accreditation Day in China is ¡°Certification and Accreditation: Facilitating World Trade¡±. Mr. Xie Jun, Vice Director of CNCA announced the work programme of ¡°Certification and Accreditation: Facilitating Trade and Benefiting People¡± and Mr. Sun Licheng, CCS President read the action proposal for facilitating trade and benefiting people on behalf of the certification and accreditation bodies during the theme activity.

Mr. Gao Hongfeng stated that certification and accreditation had played a significant role in improving the management level of the transportation industry, ensuring transportation safety, and regulating transportation and construction markets. He pointed out that transportation practitioners had provided better product and service for the society, offered basic guarantee for the people¡¯s safe, convenient and green transportation, and strongly supported the rapid development of national economy and foreign trade. He emphasized that as the transportation industry was accelerating transformation and upgrade and improving basic public transportation services, a better supporting role of certification and accreditation was in dire need. MOT would continue to promote the establishment and implementation of the certification and accreditation system for the transportation field in accordance with relevant national certification and accreditation requirements.

The World Accreditation Day was established jointly by the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and aimed to promote the extensive development of certification and accreditation activities in the world. So far, it has been celebrated for six years. This year¡¯s activity in China was hosted by GAQSIQ, MOT, MOC and CNCA, organized by CNAS and CCS, and assisted by CCPIT, China Certification & Accreditation Association and China Certification & Accreditation Institute.
