CCS Opens Its Academy in Beijing

Based on China Classification Society(CCS) Academy Preparation Office, Shanghai and Wuhan Training Centers, CCS Academy has been officially set up in a bid to accommodate CCS development strategy, promote better and faster business expansion, boost human resources development, fully implement CCS Goal-based Training Scheme (GBTS), and consolidate resources throughout CCS to cope with challenges. During the meeting of CCS Training & Qualification Management Committee convened in Beijing on 2 July 2009, the inauguration ceremony for the Academy was held and opened jointly by CCS President Li Kejun and the Committee members.


The Academy, composed of Academy Beijing Headquarters, Shanghai and Wuhan Training Centers, is a dedicated training body established under CCS to provide training and further education for  people engaging in survey, testing, certification and business management and intending to acquire, maintain and upgrade their qualifications, so it constitutes a vital part of CCS human resources development and business supporting system. Mr. Li Kejun holds concurrently the post of the first Dean of the Academy. The main functions of the Academy include providing training in rules, plan approval, survey, testing, management, etc., to ensure that personnel are qualified for their corresponding posts and their qualifications are maintained, and offering training in application of new knowledge and technology aiming to continuously upgrade the personnel¡¯s technical competence and professional level, safeguard our business development and serve relevant national industries.


The establishment of the Academy will help integrate and harmonize the training resources throughout CCS, optimize and standardize our training system, and lay a solid foundation for improving our overall international competitiveness. The establishment of the Academy is a significant move of CCS talent development strategy, and crucial for our implementation of sustainable development strategy. It will help create a team of technical and management staff with professional proficiency, and build a solid system to support realization of our goal of building a first-rate international class society. While providing better services for CCS business development, the Academy is also most willing to offer higher quality services for relevant industries.
