Recently, CCS Far East Fire Testing Center, entrusted by Soben International, successfully conducted fire testing of compartment wall and ceiling for construction use in accordance with British Standards (BS) and EU’s EN standards.

The testing is divided into two categories, i.e. testing of compartment wall in two furnaces according to BS standards and testing of ceiling and compartment wall in three furnaces according to EN standards. As one of suppliers to stadium construction for 2012 Olympic Games in London, Soben International put forward stringent technical requirements on the facilities and personnel in the lab. According to EU requirements, testing conducted in a recognized lab outside Europe shall be witnessed by the engineer from a well-known European lab; otherwise the testing result will not be recognized.

The Testing Center has held several technical consultations with the customer since December 2008. After sufficient exchange of views on technical documents including drawings and joint efforts with the customer and the witnessing engineer from the well-known UK lab WFRC, the testing was conducted with good results a few days ago and won appreciation from the customer and the WFRC engineer.
