Transport Minister of Malta Visited CCS

On the afternoon of Feb. 23, a high-profile delegation headed by Hon. Austin Gatt, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications of Malta visited CCS. CCS President Mr. Li Kejun held a friendly talk with the delegation, attended by H.E. Mr. Carl Xuereb, Ambassador of Malta to China, Mr. Lino Vassallo, Director of Merchant Shipping Directorate, Mr. Fan Qiang, CCS Assistant President, etc. Both sides briefly reviewed and reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between Malta and China, especially the highly effective cooperation in the maritime sector. H.E. Mr. Austin Gatt stated that Mediterranean Sea is a significant hub for the trade between East and West due to its special geographical location. Now that Malta is becoming a new maritime center, CCS is encouraged to play a bigger role in enhancing and broadening cooperation with the Maltese maritime administration. He also invited CCS to establish an office in Malta. After the talk, Mr. Li guided a tour of CCS new office building for the delegation and introduced to them CCS development during recent years.
