On 20 & 21 October 2008, a Cyprus audit team comprising Mr. George V. Christophi and Mr. Kyriacos S. Aliouris carried out an audit to this Society to verify its implementation of the authorization agreement. The auditors stated in the closing meeting that CCS is in full compliance with statutory requirements of the competent authority and international conventions, and the corrective measures for the findings raised in the previous audit have been well implemented. The auditors also proposed areas for further improvement, including understanding and implementation of specific provisions in the agreement, use of certificate formats provided by the administration, and consistency between hard copy and electronic data of survey reports. Cooperation and support of CCS staff throughout the audit were highly appreciated by the auditors.

CCS Vice President Mr. Gao Zhaojie attended the closing meeting and extended gratitude on behalf of CCS to the auditors for their effective and efficient work. Mr. Gao stated that as a responsible classification society, CCS can ensure careful implementation of requirements prescribed by the agreements with various flag administrations.
